Enrollment and Lottery

La Resolana Leadership Academy is proud to be a FREE public charter middle school established in 2006, with a maximum of 50 students per grade.  We offer grades 6, 7 and 8.  We serve all students regardless of current or past academic performance, including students with disabilities, English language learners, and gifted and talented students.

LRLA enrolls students through a lottery process.  There are no admission requirements or interviews, and there are no admission or tuition fees.  For the 2017-2018 school year, the Open Enrollment Period will begin Monday, January 9, 2017 and end on Monday, April 10, 2017.  Families must submit a Lottery Enrollment Form to LRLA during the Open Enrollment Period from January 9th through April 10th.

If the total number of applicants for any given class exceeds the number of spaces available, a lottery will be held to determine the accepted students.  The lottery will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.  During the lottery, if more students apply than spaces are available, the student’s name will be placed on a per grade wait list, in the order that their names are pulled during the lottery process.

Any Lottery Enrollment Forms received after 4:00 p.m. Monday, April 10th will be placed on the wait list after the lottery on April 12th.

Enrollment preference is given to siblings of currently attending students who have submitted the Lottery Enrollment Form by the deadline of April 10th.  If a sibling fails to submit his/her Lottery Enrollment Form by the deadline, the enrollment preference may be forfeited and the student may be placed on the waiting list established at the lottery.

If a student accepted through the lottery declines, or when vacancies arise throughout the school year, students will be contacted from the waitlist in the order in which they appear.

Parents of students accepted through the lottery or accepted from the waitlist will be notiified by telephone and will have five business days from the date of the call to register their child, or make arrangements for registration.  Failure to do so within the five days may result in loss of enrollment.

Once a student has been admitted to LRLA they do not need to re-apply to keep their seat, unless they dis-enroll and seek to re-enroll at a future date.
